Natalie really enjoyed watching her movies.
Natalie enjoying a bowl of cereal with island bananas.
Natalie and her friend Amanda playing at the kiddy pool.
Hapuna Beach was the best white sand beach on the Big Island. We all had a great time playing in the sand and surf and were able to catch a few waves on the boogie board.
Amanda and Sarah, Cute Little Mermaids
She was tuckered out from all the fun in the sun.
We took a trip to the tide pools that were created by the lava flow. There were not many critters living in the pools but was really neat walking on the hardened lava.
Josh won a trip up to Kahua Ranch an 8,500 acre working cattle ranch located 3,200' above sea level nestled in the Kohala Mountains. As we arrived at Kahua Ranch we grabbed a great tasting beer from the Kona Brew Co. listened to some history about the ranch and watched the sun set. They served a delicious steak dinner with yummy side dishes including Hawaiian sweet bread and a fantastic macadamia nut pie. After dinner there was live music and the ranch's mascot "piggly wiggly" put on a show. Piggly Wiggly is a wild boar that wondered onto the ranch when she was a baby. She now weighs in at about 400lbs and gets to eat all the leftover sweet rolls. She would do tricks like sitting and laying down. We had a good time and want to thank Nana Jan for watching Natalie for the evening.

On the drive up Kilauea Volcano we stopped at a delicious bakery in Punalu'u. We bought some yummy bread and sandwiches for lunch.

This is the Thurston Lava Tube that we got to walk through and it was pretty amazing. There was also a section of the lava tube where you could enter at your own risk and we did. It was very dark in there and kind of creepy even with the light of our flashlights.
Royal Kona Luau
We all had a great time at the Luau. Natalie's favorite part was when the guy came out with the fire and was twirling it. She still talks about that and wants to watch the video. During the Luau our friends Greg and Olivia announced their engagement. Congratulations!!! We stayed our last night at the Royal Kona and this is the view from our room. We want to thank Sandy and Greg Sr. and Greg for enviting us, we all had a wonderful time.
ALOHA!
